Albums And Frames / February 17, 2019 / Alondra Washington
Some albums close with a snap or buckle; others have a leather strap that is tied shut. They usually come in either a 12-inch square or an 8½-inch by 11-inch format. The larger format allows more diversity when laying out the photos. A nicer album with the pages stitched in place cannot have pages added to it. Some albums have ring binders so you can add new pages later. A one-inch ring can hold about 100 photos. A two-inch ring can hold up to 400. The non-expandable types require careful planning to make sure you don't run out of pages or have empties at the end.
But no matter what style of paper you choose, always remember to buy the ones that have low acid content, and also lignin-free. To determine the acid content of paper, make sure to look at the packaging label. If it has a pH level of 7 or higher, it is safe to use for your scrapbooking.
